The core idea behind the development of this design was to successfully communicate personal and shared histories with contemporary language. The visual therefore took strong inspiration from the most common communication method today, social media. The design, created together with Grau architects, was positioned within technical limitations of the space it took place in, a historical palace in the centre of the old town Bratislava. Due to the nature of the building, custom panelling was created which was style-wise in stark contrast with the surrounding walls. The panelling that hosts the exhibition images and texts was designed to be narrow and vertical, imitating the screens of mobile devices, bringing familiarity to the viewer. This design also allowed for the contents of the exhibition to be broken into succinct bits that are easy for the visitor to process and equally easy for museum employees to work with. This was done to promote a certain virality for the exhibition, rooting it in the current age.
