Visual identity for a boutique music festival with a unique approach and atmosphere while highlighting its characteristic DIY approach.
Flaam is a boutique (mostly) music festival taking place in Nitra, Slovakia. Founded in 2014 by a group of best friends, curious art fans and avid festival goers, it’s been slowly growing to be one of the most interesting and unique festivals in the country. While following in the footsteps of its bigger and older airfield-based festival siblings in incorporating all kinds of art into its DNA, Flaam presents itself as a unique festival beast of its own due to its intimate atmosphere, playful approach and courage to present fresh and audacious art.
The visual identity is based on the concept of duct tape – the indispensable item of every festival production and an object that represents the DIY approach of the festival’s creation process and its homely atmosphere. In marketing, the tape substituted for the typical festival poster as it contains all the necessary info – line-up, date, place of the event etc.; but it also held its primary practical function in securing the cables on the stages, branding various objects or as an orientation system for the festival visitors.
